What is a Ghazal?
This is about a Shanghai morning (and some grouching about the pollution). For #HammeredPoetry's contest about end rhyme, as well as for #ProjectDFC.
Modern, because it's what I see every morning outside. I don't think it sounds old-fashioned, but let me know if you think it is.
End rhyme! It is AA-BA-BA-CA-CA.
It has sher (two lines to form a couplet), radif (all second lines end in the same word), matla (first couplet, both lines end in the same word), beher (all lines are ~the same length), and some kaafiyaa (the rhyme for the words before the radif - everywhere/aware, fog/smog). It doesn't have maqta because I couldn't understand what that was.
Tell me what you think, please? Thank-you!
-edit:
This won third place in the competition! Go check out the first and second place winners, they deserve lots of love.
